SNOW STRUCTURES: MAKING THE MOST OF SNOW THIS WINTER

* Giant SnowMan.

On February 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2009, the London transport network, and for a brief moment, telecomm facilities too, were in a lockdown due to heavy snow. It reported that the country had not witnessed that amount of snowfall for the bast 30 or more years.

As in most parts of the capital, Woolwich was affected as trains were halted and disruptions affeccted every other part of the economic life of the capital. And while kids were kept off classrooms and stayed home, act of nature soon gave good reason for all-round out-door fun - and families did not even have to go far to enjoy it.

Snowmen women and their kids sprang up every where, most of them untidy structures hurriedly put together by excited revellers. But one structure stood out. This 8 foot structure was one of the few tidy types, neatly built by patient and experienced snowmen builders.

We might not be expecting a white celebration in the South East this Christmas, but that doesn't mean that snow is all over and it may just have very well been postposed by nature again till the new year. So, it just may pay you to be prepared.
