DRUMMER LEE RIGBY: WOOLWICH ATTACK VICTIM WAS AN EXPERT MACHINE GUNNER by Benson Agoha

* Victim: Drummer Lee Rigby.

Drummer Lee Rigby has been described as an expert machine gunner with 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers is a veteren of Afghanistan, having served there in 2009 and was also posted to Cyprus and Germany.
He was married and has a two year old son and was wearing a Help for Heroes shirt at the time of the attack in Woolwich.

According to media reports, though his battalion is currently training in Cyprus, he has been on attachment to its London headquarters as a recruiter. He was said to have just emerged from a nearby Highrise around the John Wilson Junction, on his way to the Woolwich Barracks, before the attack.

He grew up in Manchester and was said to be well loved and always smiling.

Sympathisers continue to drop flowers at the John Wilson Junction, scene of the attack. And although the police line has now been removed, opening the road once again, as the 24 hours forensic work at the scene has been completed, media and police presence is still very much on ground.

Meanwhile, two more persons have been arrested in connection with the attack. Reports say detectives arrested and are questioning a man and a woman, both 29, in connection with the attack following a series of armed raids.
