Congrats guys.
We have already expressed our congratulations to Kanye West and his girlfriend Kim Kardarshan through twitter [ @woolwichonline ] on the arrival of their new daughter, whom they have, unsurprisingly, called "North West". No explanation expected and none given. What is surprising is that Twitter started buzzing - as usuall. But really, what did we expect?
Ok, `Kanyekim Junior' used above, was my coinage, but celebrities have always found it a little difficult to blend in with the `vogue', haven't they?
Below are some of the strange names coined by celebs and, while some bottered to explain, others simply did not:
`Willow and Jaden Smith(girl and boy respectively) are both children of Will Smith and his wife Jeda Pinkett Smith. There name are said to be coined from thier parents first names. So Willow is from `Will' and Jaden is from `Jeda'.
`Happer Seven Beckham' is said to have been coined from David Bechkam's publisher `HapperCollins' and his shirt number `7'.
`Tu Morrow', said to be among the `worst' according to Catherine Connors, is Rob Morrow's little girl. She was said to have been coined during a pre-conception chat..and they just never bothered with any other suggestion.
Even Jay Z and Beyonce's littler girl `Blue Ivy' sounded a little strange didn't it? But at least, they were not the first to use `Blue' or `Ivy'. `Blue' Angel is a name given to the daughter of U2's The Edge and Aislinn O'Sullivan and Zola `Ivy' was given to one of Eddie Murphy and Nicole Mitchell's children. Did Jay Z and Beyoncee borrow from those two names? We wonder.
Well, Kanye and Kim may have done with this easily, but some parents actually find themselves struggling to decide on an appropriate name for their new baby. Some even resort to asking friends to assist and, we just may not have heard the worst yet.
Are you expecting? So what will you be calling him or her? Go on, tell us.
