The Greenwich Council has arranged summer events for the General Gordon Square, Woolwich (pictured above).

A letter from the office of the Director of Culture, Sports and Media, Ms Katrina Delaney, says that from now until September, the council will be putting on family entertainment, every Saturday, as well as children’s films on Sunday in General Gordon Square.

Traders who desire to offer promotional discounts or special offers are assured that the council will be happy to promote them and also use publicity to “encourage people to come in early, eat in the town and enjoy a high quality performance”.

The letter says the series of events is designed to encourage the wider community into Woolwich for a programme of entertainment and, most importantly, shopping.
