TCL INVITATES YOU TO THE `LET THEM BAKE CAKE' COMPETITION TO FIND CAKEY QUEEN OR KING by Benson Agoha


* `Let Them Bake Cake!' Competition.

The Coffee Lounge has announced its new `Tweet Up', an invitation to Cake bakers, eaters and lovers, to determine `Woolwich's Cakey Queen or King'. Even those who don't like cakes are invited.

The event holds in October.

So if you pride yourself on making a `splendid sponge, geogeous gateaux, terrific trifle or any other cakey creation', Coffee Lounge says, this is your chance to pitch your cake against other amazing bakers.

The second `Meet and Greet', titled "Let Them Bake Cake", will be a competition between Cake Bakers and will be held in its Woolwich shop.

You will need to indicate your interest by signing up, then bake your cake and bring it along for tasting on that day.

The success of the first `Tweet UP' was encouraging and the new competition is expected to consolidate on the positive gains of the previous meeting.

Venue: The Coffee Lounge, Equitable House, 29 Greens End, Woolwich London, SE16 6AB.

Date: Friday 4th October, 2013.

Time: 19hrs to 22.30hrs (7pm - 10.30pm).

The organisers say its a come one, come all event `for an evening of networking and gossip' on local issues.

And there will be food and drink - plus there will be Cakes! Cakes!! Cakess!!! - May be lots of them.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE COUNCIL ON `SILVER SUNDAY' IN ROYAL GREENWICH by Benson Agoha

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has announced that this year's Silver Sunday for older residents, is scheduled for October 6, 2013.

Information received from Peter Wilson, Principle Employment Engagement Officer, Department of Regeneration, Enterprise and Skills said Silver Sunday, a national celebration of older residents, will hold to offer them "the chance to try new things, stay active, meet new people and help combat loneliness".

October 6th's event will take place to coincide with the United Nation's International Day of Older Persons.

As usual, the council is giving residents and traders the opportunity to participate. "By taking up this invite you will have the opportunity to promote your Businesses/Organisation to local residents."

Traders who already offer any special promotions or would like to do so now are being encouraged by getting in touch with Peter Wilson.

INVITATION TO THE GREAT GREENWICH BURGER OFF by Benson Agoha

* The "BURGER OFF" Competition, 2013.

Mr. Greenwich of twitter fame invites Greenwich residents to the Indie Food Night Great Greenwich Burger Off billed for Thursday 12th September, 2013, at the Greenwich Market, Greenwich Town Centre, at 7pm.

The event will feature display of assorted burgers by local chefs, sampling whilst supporting local businesses, live music and entertainment for kids.

According to the organisers, there will also be a Burger competition from 8pm that will be judged by 4 well known locals.

This maiden event will is being restricted to Greenwich residents only.
