Berkeley Homes has commenced work at the site of `Canon Square', it's newest Woolwich Development.
When Woolwich Online visited the site earlier today, archeological digs were ongoing, and diggers, dumpers and loading trucks gradually altered the landscape.
An onsite engineer told us they expected the digs to go on for another six to eight weeks, after which - from around December - noticeable changes can then be expected.
Woolwich, home to several historical events over many centuries, is proud of its heritage, and you never know what the digs will uncover.
Will the lush Evergreen trees currently at the site be retained? The engineer said, he believed they will, unfortunately, all have to go because the development looks set to be massive.
Ideally located to access the new Crossrail station at Royal Arsenal with less than five minutes walk, facilities include a 24hr concierge, gym and ZipCar car share club and a two-story underground Car Park.
