* The Woolwich Grand Theatre.
If grapevine rumours making the rounds holds true, The Woolwich Grand Theatre is under threat of redevelopment.
According to media report, a leaflet is circulating in Woolwich, inviting the public to a consultation on the property located at No. 38 Wellington Street, Woolwich.
The leaflet said the consultation will be held at the Gunnery House in Royal Arsenal on Thursday, on 26th September, 2013.
The Woolwich Grand Theatre is currently promoting their forth-coming event, 'We Love Woolwich Festival' scheduled to hold from 27 -29th September, 2013.
When Woolwich Online visited the property for confirmation, the Project Manager, Mr. Adrian Green refused to comment on our question. He said 'I will not comment on that.'
According to the report, the text in the leaflet essentially partly contained of the following texts:
"INVITATION TO CONSULTATION EVENT:
Proposals for 38 Wellington Street
You are invited to view and comment on proposals for the site of the former Grand Theatre and Regal Cinema at 38 Wellington Street for a mixed use development incorporating commercial on ground floor with residential uses
Event details:
Thursday 26th September 2013 from 2pm to 5.30pm at 9-11 Gunnery Terrace, Room 22 Gunnery House, Woolwich Arsenal, London SE18 6SW."
It could be recalled that Nightlife in Woolwich was halted following the forced closure of Ntyce, formerly located at the property, due to violence.
We hope that Nightlife in Woolwich will soon return.
