* Angola on the World Map.

Islam is now forbidden in the African Country of ANGOLA, media report say.

Located on South West of Africa, Angola is home to some 20.82 million people, according to 2012 estimate.

Reports say the decision was taken in a bid to curb extrimism and, according to media reports, the authorities have ordered the dismantling of all Mosques in the Country.

According to the IBT "Angola has ordered the shutdown of all mosques and declared Islam illegal".

"This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country," President Jose Edurado dos Santos was quoted as saying.

And according to the minister of culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, "The legalisation of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights [and] their mosques will be closed until further notice,".

However, Islam, which makes up about 1% of the population is not the only religious sect outlawed. 194 other sects were also banned even as severy other applications were awaiting approval.

Angola becomes the first Country in the world to outlaw Islam.
