Construction works are progressing to plan at Anglesea Road, Woolwich, as evidenced by the presence of construction equipment and workmen at site today.
The works should bring the road to the same standard as the newly reconstructed Woolwich New Road.
When Woolwich Online visited the site, the contractors, Messrs JB Riney & Co. Ltd, were busy at work, scraping out the worn surface and arranging prefab concrete slabs in place.
The job will involve the total resurfacing of Anglesea Road, as well as the redesign and reconstruction of the pedestrian walkway, replacing worn pavement slabs with new ones.
A site Engineer told us that they expect the job to be completed within the next two weeks, after which, the road will be reopened.
Anglesea Road is a single, important lane, linking traffic from Woolwich New Road towards Burrage Road and Plumstead Common.
