HARVARD COLLEGE BOMB HOAXER CHARGED by Benson Agoha
A college sophomore who sent an email alerting Harvard University that a bomb had been planted in four halls within the campus, has been charged.
Eldo Kim, 20, who resides in Quincy House, Harvard College, in the United States, sent out an email on Monday claiming that four buildings have been targeted. The school reacted by evacuating students from the alleged halls into Harvard Yard and the Science Centre Plaza while police carried out a search.
Sent with a mail browser under a temporary anonymity, Kim was said to have hoped his identity would not be revealed. The email was received by Harvard Crimson President, Robert S. Samuels, who promptly alerted Police.
In the email which Eldo Kim titled “bombs placed around campus,”, the Quincy House sophomore wrote “bombs placed in: science center [and] sever hall [and] emerson hall [and] thayer hall. 2/4. guess correctly. be quick for they will go off soon.”
Police then spent 6 hours on a fruitless search. After it was found to be unfounded, the second year student, who is said to be "involved on campus and engaged in his schoolwork", told investigators he was “motivated by a desire to avoid a final exam scheduled to be held on [Monday].”
He will appear in a federal Court on Wednesday morning.
