WOOLWICH: NEW WINE CHURCH REDEEMS 1500 FOOD VOUCHERS FOR CHRISTMAS by Sonny Jones
* People on Queue at the New Wine Church, Woolwich.
New Wine Church, woolwich is today, redeeming 1500 Food Vouchers as Christmas Hampers to less priviged families.
The gesture which has been running for the past 11 years is organised every year, when vouchers are issued to the specific target number for the year, who cannot afford to buy food for themselves during Christmas.
Church members, then contribute food which is distributed to those with pre-issued vouchers. The Vouchers for 2013 were issued since October and registered families have to go to the church premisses on John Wilson Street, Woolwich to collect their hampers.
On Saturday, December 7, 2013, New Wine Church held a Christmas Dinner for the less privileged.
During the event, Cllr. John Fahy, visited and used the opportunity to listen to the complains of some of those who attended.
If you do not already have a voucher, it may already have been late for today's event because admittance have since been closed and only registered voucher holders will collect.
New Wine Church's Foodbank runs independent of the Greenwich Foodbank.
