FIVE KILLED, 20 INJURED AS BOMB BLAST ROCKS LEBANON CAPITAL by Benson Agoha
* Bomb blast.
A huge explosion has rocked Lebanese Capital Beirut, and smoke billowed into the sky from a destroyed high rise building, photos from Italian media reports.
According to Sky News "..there was no immediate word on damage or casualties caused by the blast in the Lebanese capital, which has been hit by a series of bombs in recent months."
Media reports say at least five people have been confirmed dead while 20 others were injured as several cars were set ablaze by the explosion.
It occured during rush hour as people went about their businesses. At least one building was said to have its roof blown off in the Haret Hreik district, an area described as a Hisbollah stronghold.
* Survivors flee scene after the blast that destroyed at least 6 cars.
No one has also yet claimed responsibility nor revealed any motive for the bombing which is one of several that have occured in the past few months.
