Tesco Supermarkets has announced the introduction of a new Healthy Living Brand to replace their Tesco Light Choices and Tesco Eat Live Enjoy.

The launch of the new range of healthy foods is to help customers lead healthier lifestyles in 2014, says the Supermarket.

Tesco says the new range aims to give customers an easy and even more appealing way to "control the amount of salt, sugar and fats they eat, without compromising on flavour."

According the High Street chain, the range will include over 230 products covering from bakery and ready meals to yoghurts and healthy treats. Besides, 85 per cent of the whole Healthy Living range is new or improved.

Tesco said "all Healthy Living branded products have controlled levels of salt, sugar, fat and saturated fat and none are red on nutritional traffic-light colour coding."

David Wood, Tesco's Marketing Director for UK said: “Helping our customers and colleagues to lead healthier lifestyles is very important to us.

He said this range represents a shift in the way we think about healthy foods and "we want to give our customers great tasting products that make choosing healthier options easy".

Tesco says the new Healthy Living Range will offer two choises of either 1) Big on Taste, Lower in Calories or 2) Beautifully Balanced.

Products that will feature in the new range have all been tested and each dish refined with Tesco's product developers, expert nutritionists and professional chefs to ensure a variety of healthy products with no compromise on taste, are offered, Tesco says.

All Healthy Living products meet the Public Health Responsibility Deal 2012 targets for salt and were sourced using customers' feedback, Tesco says.
