Update On Flight MH370: Spotted Floating Object Is 22.5m

China has spotted a large debris in the southern corridor, where a multi-nation search for missing Malaysia Airlines plane MH370 is underway, according to reports by the Straits Times.

In a report on Saturday ST said China spotted debris in southern corridor, quoting Malaysia's acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.

"The news that I just received is that the Chinese ambassador received satellite image of floating objects in the southern corridor and they will be sending ships to verify," adding "I need to find out more details from China's Saturday's finding."

According to the Minister the satellite images showed the debris was 30m wide and 22m long.

He told a press conference in Sepang on Saturday that he would need more time to confirm with China, where a a press conference is expected to be held later today.

Media Reports say US funding for the search and rescue operation for the missing plane will

likely run out in April, according to sources from the US Department of Defence (DOD). United States earmarked about $5million for the S&R effort.
