The death toll following a new bomb blast in Nyanya, outskirts of the Nigerian capital Abuja last night has climbed to 12 and 19 others were injured, Police revealed this morning.
The blast occured on the second day of protests aganst seeming inaction by the Nigerian government 16 days after some 230 were abducted by gun men suspected to be members of terror group Boko Haram.
And while it was thought that some 187 girls were missing, new figures early today say the State Security Services (SSS) has clarified that 276 girls are actually still missing.
As protesters in Lagos defied police to let their feelings known, members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASAN) also showed their anger yesterday by boycotting the May Day rally at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
