Woolwich: American Brand 'Dunkin' Donuts' Opening Soon At Town Centre

'Dunkin' Donuts', America's favourite maker of savoury pasties is the latest arrival in Woolwich.

The new branch, set to open at the Town Centre next month, is the fourth to open in the UK, under the Franchise of Court Group, which already has branches in Chelmsford and Cambridge.

In a Press Release, made available to Woolwich Online, the company said "a taste of America will be coming to Woolwich next month".

Founded in 1950 with head office in Canton, Massachusetts, Dunkin' Donuts has established itself as a leader in the hot regular/decaf/flavoured coffee, iced coffee, donuts, bagel and muffin pastries.

For seven consecutive years, it was ranked on No. 1 by 'Brand Keys' for customer loyalty in the coffee category, and has become an international brand with nearly 11,000 restaurants in 33 countries, worldwide.

The statement said work has begun on the restaurant at 26-28 Powis Street, Woolwich, and is due to open in mid-June. The new opening will create 15 new jobs for local people.

It comes as the internationally renowned bakery and one of the world’s leaders in baked goods and coffee chain, announced last year that it was returning to the UK. Subsequently, the first restaurant opened in Harrow, London in December.

"The Woolwich branch will be the fourth to open in the UK, and will be run by franchisees Court Group, which has already opened Dunkin’ Donuts branches in Chelmsford and Cambridge," the statement said.

Aziz Tejpar of Court Group, said: “Woolwich is a fantastic area and we are very much looking forward to opening our doors next month. We are creating 15 new jobs, and our new team will be serving not just donuts and coffee, but also a varied menu of food and drink, served all day."

He said “We also have our healthier DDSmart menu, and our sandwiches, and hot drinks are all made to order, and as we head into summer our frozen coffees and fruit Coolattas are very popular," adding “Across the world Dunkin’ Donuts serve more than 5million customers a day, and we look forward to serving local people in Woolwich with the world-famous Dunkin’ quality.”

According to the statement, the Woolwich restaurant will serve a wide range of hot and iced beverages, including Dunkin’ Donuts’ Original Blend Coffee and tea, as well as an assortment of breakfast and all day sandwiches, baked goods, all-day snacks, and grab and go products.

"The menu will also include items specially tailored to the UK, including Sausage Butties, Bacon Butties, Porridge and Hot Croistrami™ Sandwiches. Dunkin’ Donuts also offers healthy choices from its DDSMART® lineup, including Latte Lite, Egg & Cheese Wake Up Wraps and Multi-Seed Bagels," the statement said.
