World Cup: Brazil Feels The 'Loss' Of Neymar, Silva As They Go Down 7:1

by Benson Agoha

Brazil felt the impact of the loss of its star players in yesterday's semi-final face-off with Germany.  The Germans thrashed them 7:0 in a game that highlighted the impact of the loss of the Brazilian stars.

Talisman Neymar and Thiago Silva - two star players for Brazil were ruled out of the Semi-final clash.

Neymar, rocked with back injury during the quarter-final clash with Colombia, was said to be hoping to play again soon if Brazil beat Germany in yesterday's clash.

On the other hand, Captain Thiago Silva got suspension from the semi-final clash and only a day earlier was confident his team-mates will deliver. Chelsea player David Luiz was Brazil's stand-in captain in yesterday's clash.

The Germans parading prolific stars like Thomas Muller and his Bayern Munich mid-fielder team-mate Toni Kroos, Lazio striker Miroslav Klose, and Real Madrid hitman Sami Khedira were all on points, with Kroos scoring twice. Chelsea's Andre Schurrle also scored, sealing the routing with a second half double.

But it was another Chelsea star Oscar dos Santos who clawed one goal back for Brazil. As game ended, it was Brazil 1: 7 Germany.

The second semi-final clash between Argentina and Holland takes place in Sao Paulo at 9pm tonight.
