The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has visited the on-going Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Festival and called on Londoners to head to the event today. He tweeted a photo of himself with a salute pose.

The Mayor Tweeted “Fantastic morning at the Tall Ships @Royal_Greenwich as part of @TotallyThames - urge everyone to head down there!”
While in Royal Greenwich, The Mayor met the Leader of the Royal Borough, Cllr. Denise Hyland, and Duncan Souster of Jubilee Sailing aboard British Tall Ship `Tenacious' - one of the participating vessels at the Festival.
The Tall Ships Festival has grown from a few ships taking part in the first few years to its recent size of 50 ships for the 2014 event.

Binita Dave said it was "stunning" and Bill Green shared an awesome shot of the Greenwich Pier with the Tall Ships at night.
Ian Hawking said he was loving it and called it “a MUST SEE in London at the moment.” Tweeting "Loving the @tallships_2014 at #GreenwichRegatta a MUST SEE in London at the moment. Well done Royal Greenwich."
