Residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich are invited to give
their opinion of local pharmacy services in a survey being run by the Royal
Borough.
The survey results will
help identify where existing services are doing a good job, and where
improvements might be needed. It’s part of the Royal Borough’s role in
regularly reviewing existing services, to establish what local people need, and
how things might change in the future.
Results will help shape
a report on local pharmacy services which will be sent to NHS England to help
in their planning of future services.
The survey focuses on
local pharmacies, which provide medicines on prescription and which sell a
range of medicines over the counter. It doesn't cover hospital-based pharmacy
services.
Cllr Maureen O’Mara, the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Cabinet
Member for Public Health, said, “Local pharmacies form an important part of the
local health service, and are relied on by many residents of all ages. Along
with our local health partners we are keen to ensure that pharmacies are
operating in a way that meets the needs of local people.”
Cllr O’Mara said “The
survey is a useful way for us to find out whether they are doing so – and to
identify any improvements that might be needed.”
The questionnaire is
completely anonymous, and will take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
The survey runs until
31 October 2014 and the results will be available later this year.
