Cake Storm: The ISIS Cake made by Wallmart; Plus the apology

This was the cake ISIS Wallmart made and for which they have tendered an apology.

According to the Inquisitr, this cake kicked up a social media storm - what with the bad publicity that trails the name to which is is associated.

But the Inquisitr said Randy Hargrove of Walmart Stores has promptly issued a statement, reported by the Daily Caller, late Saturday night that said the following.

“Our local store made a mistake. The cake in the video should not have been made and we apologize.”

According to the INQUISITR:

Hargrove also stood by Walmart’s decision to stop selling the Confederate flag, and further clarified why the Slidell, Louisiana, location in which this incident occurred excluded one flag while seemingly supporting another that actively kills gays, Christians, and Muslim people.

“We made the decision to stop selling Confederate flag related items promoting the flag’s image,” he said. “For that reason we did not make the cake.”

“[Netzhammer] brought in the other image of ISIS and really, what happened, was our associate didn’t recognize what that image was and what it meant or it wouldn’t have been made.”

Last week, Netzhammer posted the below video that showed the “Heritage Not Hate” Confederate Flag that he wanted on a cake from his local Walmart.

When refused, he approached another location with the Walmart ISIS cake idea, and received no pushback.

“I am highly offended, distraught, and in tears over the fact you pull American history off your shelves, but allow the offensive battle flag of terrorists, sex slavers, be-headers of Christians, burners of gays to be made in your store,” Netzhammer wrote.

He continued, “You also allow offensive Rap music which sings about cop killing, degrading women, drive by murder, drug use, selling drugs, prostitution and repeatably [sic] uses the highly offensive word ‘n***er.’… But you can’t buy a beloved children’s toy car with a Confederate flag on the roof?”
