Exclusive Preview Screenings at brand new Film Festival

Film-buffs and people new to cinema will be able to experience a brand new film festival reflecting the borough’s status as one of the UK’s leading film locations.

The Greenwich Film Festival – “From Greenwich with love” will take place between Friday 19 – Sunday 21 June 2015 and tickets are already selling fast for what will be one of the biggest events in the London calendar.

Part of the Royal Greenwich Festivals, the film event will bring innovative, independent U.K. and international cinema to the Royal Borough; showcasing new films by up and coming directors along with films that are due to be released this year in independent cinemas. 

There will be an exclusive opportunity to watch preview screenings of Sundance World Cinema Jury Prize Winner film – Slow West, featuring Michael Fassbender.

Force Majeure, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes Film Festival and nominated for Best Foreign Language Films at the Golden Globe Awards will also be screened.

As well as the UK preview screening of Los Angeles Film Festival 2014 nominated film – Comet, starring Justin Long and Emmy Rossum.

X+Y, received three nominations at the British Independent Films Awards and will be shown at the Tudor Barn in Eltham.

Exclusive ‘pop-up’ screenings will take place in The Greenwich Centre, Charlton House and The Tudor Barn, giving people a chance to watch some great films in a unique environment.
Short-films produced and directed by local students from Ravensbourne will be shown before selected screenings, showcasing the best of the Royal Borough.

There will be something for all the family, with films shown across the borough from Charlton to Greenwich and Woolwich to Eltham, on the Big Screen and in local cinemas. So get your popcorn at the ready and sit back and enjoy the films.

This year it will feature new strands including The Greenwich Film Festival which will feature some of the world’s most ground-breaking films. The Look of Silence | 15 Documentary

An Indonesian documentary exploring what it is like to be a survivor. A family that survived the genocide in Indonesia confronts the men who killed one of their brothers. The Look of Silence has won numerous awards including Grand Jury Prize, the International Film Critics Award.
