Over 30,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Great Get Together which takes place on Saturday (June 27) from 11 am - 6 pm at the Royal Artillery Barracks.

The free family festival has an exciting range of attractions, live entertainment, information stalls and activities and incorporates the borough’s Armed Forces Day celebrations.
The event is the borough’s biggest annual community festival and will also feature a performance stage, community information stalls, a sports and activity zone, and play area for young children.
Hosting the event at the Royal Artillery Barracks reflects Woolwich’s links with the military which date back almost three centuries.
Events for the day include:
· Information displays by council services, local charities and community organisations
· FMX Motorcycle Show and Motostunts vehicle show
· Sports and activity zone offering have-a-go taster sessions of a selection of sports
· Fairground rides, Lazer Quest,
· Zorbing Balls and inflatables (ticketed)
· Under fives area
· Falconry, owl, llama and dog displays
· A Have-a-go Caving experience
· A chance to climb aboard service vehicles including refuse trucks, police vehicles and fire engines
· Craft and food stalls
Military and vintage vehicles on display.
The Active Travel team will be promoting Bike Week with a Get Cycling Bike try out, Screen Printing, Pedal Kettle Challenge and a Dr Bike maintenance team A central arena will act as the focus for the day’s ceremonial activity, which will include displays by two of the regiments that are based at Woolwich Barracks.
There will also be a parades by the borough’s veterans and a presentation to the Veteran of the Year which recognises an ex-serviceman or woman for their contribution to the community.
Cllr Denise Hyland, leader of the royal borough, said: “The Great Get Together is always a great day out for all the family and brings people together from every part of our community. “We have a long and proud military heritage in this borough, and we are delighted to be working alongside our colleagues in the army to put on this event which will also help us to celebrate and honour the Armed Services.”
