A formal `Thank You' and celebration event was held Wednesday night by Neil Coyle, newly elected MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark, at The Paperworks open air venue in Borough, London.

The event was well attended and attracted several eminent persons from Southwark as well as the Labour Party, including Cllr Peter John - Leader of Southwark Council, Chairman Barry Martin - President of the Southwark Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sadiq Khan MP, Member of Parliament for Tooting and Labour Mayoral Candidate to replace Boris Johnson.
Neil Coyle said the party was celebrating winning Bermondsey and Old Southwark and that it was a thank you party "..for all the tireless hours you gave", and for the effort given towards one of the few positive results of the May 7th elections.
He said Bermondsey and Old Southwark members and suports will be joind by helpers from all our twinned constituencies, unions universities Labour clubs who delivered a majority of almost 4,500 in a seats previously held by the Liberal democrats.

It was a perfect forum to catch up with old contacts or new ones amidst the food and wine
Later, Sadiq Khan MP tweeted: "Brilliant to be w @BOSLabour at packed party to celebrate @coyleneil's election victory. Good to see so many friends!"

Cllr Peter John said the audience that the victory recorded on May 7, which brought in a Labour MP to a seat that had been in the hands of the Liberal Democrats for 32 years was possible because the right candidate in person of Neil Coyle was around.
Neil Coyle MP returned the favour and praised the Leader for his inspiring style of leadership. He thank everyone (over 1000) who made enormous sacrifice to ensure the victory was secured on that day and said he hopes the feet will be repeated in 2020 so that there will be another such gathering.
Later, the new MP tweeted his thanks and said "Thanks again to all who came to celebrate with @BOSLabour and @SouthwarkLabour last night; great party for a great Party!"
The victory over the Liberal Democrats on the May 7 general elections, is seen as a big win in Labour Party circles.
