The Greenwich Centre is located on Vanbrugh Hill in East Greenwich, a short walk from Greenwich Town Centre, and is the third and final new Royal Borough Centre to be constructed.
The Greenwich Centre is an iconic building containing first class community facilities including a new leisure centre and library as well as a health facility, crèche and cafe.
Come along and meet some of the nation’s most successful athletes including weightlifter and bronze medalist Zoe Smith and former Captain of Team GB rugby wheelchair team Andy Barrow as well as other Olympians and Paralympians who competed in London 2012, as they try out the new facilities which include:
- gym equipment which has cloud technology meaning you can access your exercise and lifestyle data anywhere, anytime.
- Skype alongside other gym users worldwide and train alongside them
- Use your smartphone to access the ‘mywellness’ fitness log app or at home using a tablet or Personal Computer via the mywellness.com website.
- share the activities you have completed on your favourite social networks and access your outdoor activity data from popular fitness applications.
In addition you can also explore our ‘digital hub’ the only library in Greenwich that has been designed to have a dedicated space with a permanent big screen to allow for film screenings as part of community events.
New PCs and a children’s games area have been installed in the library area with dedicated tablets are also available for customers.
This interactive tour will highlight the brand new state of the art leisure centre and a bigger, better new library, built by the Council in spite of the financial cuts facing all local authorities.
