For those caught between the struggle to increase sales and while keeping down costs, the secret to making that happen may just depend on the importance of your brand.
Sir Richard Branson is a businessman of huge proportions, and having grown his Virgin’s brand to success, over 4 decades, he says their success can be attributed to a lot of different decisions made over the period and actions taken. But he says "the defining factor that has kept us in business, and growing, for more than 40 years is the strength and reputation of the brand."
Sir Richard Branson shared his view through his website, attaching a video (below) from young enterpreheurs who have gone through the various stages to build a successful brand.
In his statement on building your brand, Sir Branson said there’s no secret formula to success, although certain aspects is a must to entrepreneurs to consider while setting out to create a red hot brand."
"We knew very little about marketing or branding when we started Virgin Records, back in 1972," he says. adding "we just knew we wanted to create something that disrupted the status quo and challenged people’s perceptions of what a company could be."
Sir Branson said they did it with both our product and service offering and with our brand attitude.
Nevertheless, the three most important attributes necessary to build a successful brand include, according to Laura Roeder who founded Edger - Visuals, Personality and Making it memorable.
