South Carolina Law makers today voted to take down the Confederate Flag from the State House.
But the controversy and protests may soon be over with regards to the hoisting of the Confederate Flag on the State House of South Carolina, since a lone gone man walked into a church, waited for an hour and then shot dead 11 members of the church.
It happened in Charlston South Caroline and Dylan Storm Roof has since been arrested and charged, but protests erupted because he posed with the Confederate Flag, which many say is the symbol of operation.
Today, the South Carolina House has approved taking down the Confederate flag from Capitol grounds, according a report by Fox News.
"The move came after more than 13 hours of contentious debate and weeks after the deadly shootings of nine black church members, including a state senator, at a Bible study in Charleston.
"South Carolina can remove the stain from our lives," said 64-year-old Rep. Joe Neal, a black Democrat first elected in 1992. "I never thought in my lifetime I would see this."
The House easily approved the Senate bill 94-20 and it will now go to Republican Gov. Nikki Haley, who supports it.
“Today, as the Senate did before them, the House of Representatives has served the state of South Carolina and her people with great dignity,” Haley said in a statement early Thursday.
She said: “I’m grateful for their service and their compassion. It is a new day in South Carolina, a day were can all be proud of, a day that truly brings us all together as we continue to heal, as one people and one state.”

The Confederate Flag is seen by Black American as offensive and a reminder of their dark history. And they say, Dylan Roofs shooting of black Christians on pure racists sentiments was a reminder of that. He posed with the Confederate Flag his facebook page before the shooting.
