More services are being added to the royal borough’s website making it even easier for residents to access information and pay bills online.
From this week residents can now report noise pollution or noise issues and use a search tool to check if a local street is in a controlled parking zone.
Other round-the-clock online services available to residents include the ordering and buying compostable waste sacks, online applications for resident parking permit renewals and quick and easy reporting of street or pavement problems.
Local firms are also benefiting from being able to do business with the council online, with skip and scaffolding licences, planning applications and parking permit renewals just some of the new services available to buy on the council’s website.
It is clear that residents are happy with the increased services provided by the royal borough’s website.
Since October 2014, over 11,500 local residents have got online to order and pay for bundles of compostable waste sacks.
And in a sign that local people want to order services from the council at a time most suitable for them, 46 per cent of parking permit holders using the online renewal form are choosing to renew their passes at weekends and in the evening, when the council’s offices are closed.
Councillor Maureen O’ Mara, Cabinet member for Customer Services said: “Our website is going from strength to strength and more services than ever are now available online for the convenience of local people. The council is committed to ensuring that services are as accessible as possible. I’m pleased to see that more and more residents are utilising the website as a place to get assistance, pay bills, complete forms and do much more."
