China Seizes Radiated Baby Tortoises Stolen From Madagascar

Some 298 baby tortoises stolen from the Island of Madagascar, and being smuggled to China was intercepted by airport authorities and seized.


According to the China Central Television, Guangzhou police seized the radiated turtles as they were being smuggled into Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou today. Four suspecs were reportedly detailed in the process.

The Island of Madagascar is home to some of the world's most beautiful looking species of sea creatures.  Other wild animals include the red haired lemur, the hedgehog, the streaked tenrec, and many more.

Some of the animals are endangered and being driven into extinction through hostile poaching and hunting.
