by Benson Agoha | Woolwich

A Police officer on duty at the site where a dead body was found under a bridge near the Plumstead Station will not confirm if an arrest has been made, even though a resident told Woolwich Online, one man has already been taken into custody.

A lone officer stood watch over the site on which a police line was still in place four days after the incident.

The body was removed by paramedics on Thursday, but because it is being treated as a murder scene, police cordon remain in place.

Even falling leaves are reportedly being removed to avoid contamination as forensic expert try to piece together what actually happened.

According to an earlier media report, the dead body was that of a 32-year-old. He was discovered dead with head injuries at 2pm on Wednesday at a site at the beginning of Plumstead High Street.
We asked the Police office on site if someone has been arrested in connection with the incidence, but he declined to give us as much information - only saying that the body was found on Wednesday and removed and that investigation was ongoing.

But according the BBC, three suspects, aged 35, 45 and 46, are already in custody and his identify remain protected until a formal identification is made, although police believe they know his name.

Post-mortem tests showed the man died from blunt force trauma to his head and neck.
