Royal Greenwich Urges Residents To Take Up Money Saving Energy Scheme

Royal Borough residents are being urged by the Council to sign up to a collective scheme encouraging large numbers of people to save money by switching energy suppliers at the same time.

The ‘Big London Energy Switch’ has been championed by Royal Greenwich, which has seen one of the largest number of sign ups of all London Boroughs with nearly 4,500 residents in total having registered to date.

The scheme works to help residents get a better deal on their gas and electricity bills by gathering a large number of people together to switch at any one time, encouraging energy companies to offer their lower prices possible. In total, 17 London boroughs take part.

The current round of registration is open until October 12 so Royal Greenwich residents are being urged to sign up and not to miss out. The last time the scheme was open, households who signed up saved up to £200 a year on their energy bills.
