Asqar Zarea’an, Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, reportedly told the daily Khorassan that... “Recently, a series of electronic boards were discovered that had been planted in certain equipment at [the] Fordo nuclear site to carry out sabotage acts in the enrichment processes.”

“Similar to the past, the enemy is seeking to prevent Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities using new instruments, and we should identify and defuse these moves with wisdom and prudence,” Zarea’an reportedly said at an August press conference.

“We aim to raise awareness about the enemy, who is more hostile to us every day,” he said, without disclosing specific “enemy” country.

It comes on the heal of Saturday's large scale drill during which Iran's Fighter planes hit mock enemy targets in a drill aimed to boost air force skills. The large-scale military exercise involved its air-force, designed to show its air-combat readiness.

“All fighter jets, bomber jets, transport planes, reconnaissance aircraft, refueling planes and different kinds of drones,” according to Times of Israel.

The report said Israel is widely believed to be engaged in covert efforts to stymie and set back the Islamic Republic’s nuclear efforts even as Saturday's drill showcased, according to Fars, “the combat might of the Iranian armed forces.”

“In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing essential military hardware and defense systems,” Fars agency said.
