Taste of Luxury: Tesla Readies It's Model X E-Car For Consumer Experience

The long-awaited roll-out of Tesla's Model `X' electric Car is getting ready to hit the road, according to a report,Tuesday, by Forbes.

So if you had pre-ordered the vehicle, today marks the day your dream becomes fulfilled.

After years of delays, Tesla will be unveiling the SUVs to these eager consumers - "but they are still months away from actually getting their hands on the cars, because delivery is scheduled for February, 2016.

The SUV is taller and wider than Model S, whose delivery has started. It was first unveiled in 2012, was initially supposed to be shipped to customers by the end of 2013, but the final release date has been pushed back a number of times since then.

It costs about $80,000 (£53,000), but is described as the ultimate driving experience. Consumer Report recently described Tesla's Model S as the best ever vehicle it has tested in the past 80 years of testing automobiles.

The Model X is loaded with standard equipment including "Falcon Wing rear doors with built in sensors for opening in garages of any height; automatically retracting rear spoiler; rear accessory hitch for bike or ski carrier; free long distance travel on Tesla’s supercharger network; parking sensors/blind spot warning; and automatic emergency parking.

The Signature Series includes Autopilot with self parking and automatic lane steering; Smart Air Suspension with GPS memory; independently operable 3-adult second row seats; flat-folding, 2-adult third row seats.
