Eltham: Parents Celebrate As New Nursery Opens At Vista Field Children’s Centre

Vista Field Children’s Centre, Eltham, managed by GLL, celebrated their 52-place nursery provision during an afternoon tea session, Thursday October 7, 2015.

The new provision offers nursery care for children aged three months to four years, with places for Together for Twos, as well as full fee paying places.

16 Families were present at the launch, joined by Councillor John Fahy, Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Cabinet Member for Children’s Services.

The event featured play sessions with puzzles, books, dressing up, and musical instruments inside. Also featured were water and sand play, painting and collage, as well as the slide outside, sampled by the Deputy Leader (below).

Councillor Fahy said: “The Royal Borough of Greenwich is committed to offering a wide range of childcare and other support through our children’s centres."

"With GLL and other provider organisations across the borough we are continuing to offer improvements to the services that children’s centres are able to offer to families. This new nursery will be greatly welcomed by families in Eltham."

Beverley Bernstein, Strategic Lead, South Greenwich Children’s Centres at GLL, said: “This new facility for parents is a really important development for the local community who will have access to our high quality childcare."

"Children will enjoy the environment we are providing, both in and outdoors, and parents will be assured that their children are in the care of highly qualified, experienced and friendly staff. They will, of course, also be able to continue to use all the other services that the Children’s Centre offers.”

GLL operates all the public leisure centres and libraries in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, as well as 10 children’s centres in the east and south of the Borough.
