Oscar Pistorus Out Of Jail After One Year - To Finish his Sentence At Home

Oscar Pistorus was last night released from jail, one year into his five year sentence for killing his girl dead on Valentines day of 2013. But, according to a family spokesman, this is just the next stage of his sentence. He was released one day early.

She told the media that Pistorus' sentence has not been reduced and that he would continue to serve his sentence at home, till he finishes.

Pistorus is not expected to live in the house that he shared with Reeva Steenkamp but stay with his uncle Arnold Pistorus.

Oscar fired his 9m shots through the locked toilet door at his home. He reportedly burst into tears and cried out loud, begging neighbours to help wake her up.

The spokesman person said"Oscar was released into correctional supervision last night.  Like you, we expected him to be released today."

"But we were informed that the details of any release are decided by the facility concerned and that is why Oscar was released a couple of hours earlier."

"It is very important for the family to emphasize that Oscar's sentence has not been shortened or reduced."

"He is simply entering the next phase of his sentence now. he will serve this under the strict conditions that govern correctional supervision."

"The family will support Oscar as he serves out the remainder of the five year sentence handed down by the trial judge.  He will strictly adhere to the conditions set by the trial judge and by correctional supervision."

When asked about how Oscar is, she refused to answer and said she was instructed to confirm that the family is happy that Oscar is out but wants to make a statement that Oscar's sentence continues.
