Thousands of Iran's Revolutionary Guards stormed the replica of the holy mosque on Friday and held war games, according to media reports. The aim? To simulate wresting the it from Israeli soldiers who have occupied it since the Palestinian wrong Jerusalem site in war games in Qom.
According to `Keys to Understanding Islam', the Al Aqsa is the second Mosque placed on earth. But it is also the third holiest site in Islam. It is located in Temple Mount or the Old City of Jerusalem.
The Mosque, with seven huge aisles of hypostyle naves, also had has several additional small halls added to the west and east of the southern section of the building.
Al Aqsa was built by King Solomon, referred to by Muslims as "Prophet Solomon", son of David. And as quoted by a section of keys to understanding islam, [ 'After Solomon, son of David, finished building Mosque al- Aqsa, he asked Allah to bestow him a Rule and Kingdom like no one had before, it not befitting anyone afterwards, and that no one would come to this Mosque seeking to pray in it, except that he would return from it sin-free.'
The Prophet said: 'As for two (of the three requests) he was granted, and I hope that I will be granted the third.' (Ibn Khuzaimah) ].
The control of Al Aqsa is being contested for by three parties of Israel, Jordan and Palestine but Israel and Jordan had last month, agreed to install cameras on the Mount to monitor activities by Jewish and Muslim visitors to the holy site, according to the Times of Israel.
But is Israel alarmed? The media does not think so.

It was built on a site referred to by Muslims as a`l-Haram ash-Sharif' ("the Noble Sanctuary"),[2] and by Jews as the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.
Over the centuries, however, it has had to be rebuilt time and time again by respective occupants of the city, which has changed hands from forceful capture several times.
The famous biblical King Herod had it rebuilt, as did other not-so-famous names after two earthquakes damaged portions of the huge structure.
But in recent times, it has been occupied by Israeli forces after several Palestinians were involved in attacks and stabbings targeted at non-Muslims including Israeli civilians and soldiers.
Friday's drill by Iran's revolutionary guard practiced its capture from Israeli forces and a man can be seen waving a flag from its gold-plated dome.

"The exercise appeared to be largely for show," says the Times of Israel, wondering how they plan to deploy such huge number of men and material through 1000 miles to overcome an equally powerful and technologically advanced IDF soldiers.
