Growing UP - A Mother releases her 18 year old daughter into our wild world - see what she wrote..

Saying farewell to our youngsters when they come of age is not easy.  For many parents, that's when they begin to worry.

But while some cling on to their children, others prepare for the very day in advance, knowing that it will eventually come and when it does, how you handle it may make all the difference.

So when Janice (not real name) turned 18, her mom knew the time has finally come.  Here is what she said.

[ "Well it took me a minute to do this..and not for lack of words, ecause I could spill a million about her."

"It took a minute because I needed that minute to catch my breath. I needed a minute to prepare myself for a new era in our lives."

"No more Curfew, no more you're grounded, no more Barbie's and Barrets, no more saying stay away from those Lil boys, no more `cause I said so'...lol she loves that part."

"But most of all I needed a minute to realize that [ the ] day had come to let her go. It's funny how we cover them in a huge blanket of protection from the world, and then one day, we have to let them BE THEM.

"My over protectiveness has turned into double prayer. All my teaching will now come into play. This morning, when she left the house, my heart skipped a bit - not for fear but because last night, she walked in as a Lil girl..`MY LIL GIRL'..today she walked out a grown woman.. HER OWN WOMAN, but forever my princess.

"I did that. I created a beautiful independent strong woman. One who I trust, will be none other than phenomenal!"

"Wishing my BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL JANICE A WONDERFUL 18TH BIRTHDAY...2nd chamber of my heart ..my soul. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍...."

"Mommie loves you princess 👸THE WORLD IS YOURS!!!.. buttt ummm 🔫🔫🔫🔪🔪🔪🔪 😒yes ...STILL...😁" ].
