Leader of the Royal Borough Cllr Denise Hyland has sent a message of solidarity after the barbaric Paris attacks.

The Royal Borough expresses its condolences to the French people following a series of terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday 13 November.

The violent attacks resulted in the deaths of 129 people and over 300 people are still being treated for their injuries.


Cllr Denise Hyland, Leader of Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: "We have been shocked to hear of the events which unfolded in Paris, and send our condolences and solidarity to the people of France."

"I am writing to the Mayor of Paris and we will be opening a Book of Condolence in the Town Hall here in Woolwich for local people to add their messages of support.

"Our thoughts are with our French residents during this time of mourning - as well as everyone who has been affected by other recent terrorist attacks such as those in Turkey and Beirut."
