Run Up To Christmas - Royal Greenwich Welcomes The Streets To Woolwich Beginning Friday

The Royal Borough of Greenwich welcomes The Streets festival to Woolwich on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December, 2015.

The event is being held as part of an initiative to celebrate and inspire an interest in local High Streets nationally.

There will be different performances on Friday, the 4th, including Family Jaxx with Juliet Kelly, Smitty's big parade, Smitty's big four, solo performance by Juliet Kelly and performances by local artists.

On Saturday, performances will include Oren Marshall's `Jazz for toddlers', Brendan Reilly's `Serious Singing', and the Woolwich Winter Warmer, among others.
 

Besides performances in the streets, musicians will be singing and playing in different shops and restaurants and even inside Woolwich library.

It forms part of the council’s Woolwich Winter Warmer Events which takes place on 5 December.

Breakdown of Friday’s performances: (10:30am-3:30pm):

The Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Creative Industries, Councillor Miranda Williams, said, “This is a great opportunity for residents to experience and enjoy street performers and musical performances in various locations across Woolwich.”

The ever-popular lantern-making workshops will be held in the Woolwich centre library on Saturday from 11am, with the last session at 2.30pm before the Woolwich Winter Warmer lantern parade along Powis Street from 4.30pm.
