Taliban Six NATO Soldiers Killed, 6 Others Wounded In Afghanistan As Fighting Rages

A Taliban suicide bomber near the biggest US Air base in Afghanistan killed Six coalition soldiers and injured 6 others, NATO confirms today.

The bombing happened near Balgram, the biggest military base for American operations in the Afghan city of Candahar.

The attack this afternoon, carried out by a guy on a motor cycle who plowed into a joint US-Afghan patrol and then detonated his device, has already been acknowledged by the Taliban, which reportedly claimed responsibility.

In Kabul, an attack on the Spanish embassy on December 12 also resulted in 6 casualties, but according to Fox News correspondent based in Jerusalem, full details of the casualties are yet to emerge.

It is the latest and the largest attack on foreign troops in Afghanistan since August, according to Fox News.

"Six coalition soldiers are confirmed dead by NATO, but we don't the identities of the dead soldiers or if they they are US soldiers, said a Fox reporter John Huddy, from Jerusalem.
