Paris police are keeping watch over eminent personalities assembled in Paris for the 2015 Climate Conference that began yesterday, and they are not just mounting road blocks on the ground but also keeping an on the wider circumference around the venue.
Courtesy of an Israeli made balloon, that can be deployed from 1000 ft above ground, the Paris Police makes sure no threat comes near the venue.
Today, an Israeli website Israel 21C (uncovering Israel) reports that the device is helping to assure the security of participants in the UN climate change summit currently in session.
A mobile ground control is used to analyse data from the balloon which may even not bee seen with the naked eye if fogs appear.
It is equipped with ultra-high resolution cameras that transmit data to a portable ground control station where personnel process and use it.
"Paris police launched the Israeli-made Skystar 180 aerostat surveillance balloon over the French capital to help assure the security of about 200 worldwide delegates to the 11-day United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) that began November 30." Israel21c reported.
SkyStart 180 is in continual use by the IDF and Israel Police, and has been leased to several international clients, according to the Jerusalem Post.
It is similar to the one deployed by the Uganda Police for surveillance purpose in June this year. It can stay up to one month and three days above the ground.
