A market day suicide attack in the Lake Chad area around N'DJAMENA, Niger has killed 30 and injured some 80 people, Reuters reports.
The attack, a tripple blast by three different suicide bombers occured in the island of Koulfoua on the Chadian side of Lake Chad on Saturday.
Reuters said two security sources reliably informed them of the blasts.
Earlier this year, thousands of people fleeing Islamist militant group Boko Haram sought refuge on the island although it was not immediately clear if they were still based there.
Saturday's blast occures as Nigerian and Chadian leaders met at summit in South Africa. President Muhammadu Buhari and President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger Republic met privately at the Johannesburg Summit, Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
