Shoplifters that Target The Woolwich TKMaxx Nabbed

Shoplifting is not yet a thing of the past at the Woolwich Town Centre - in fact despite police presence, some still take their chances.

Three shoplifters that targeted the TKMaxx Store at the junction of Powis and Hare Streets Woolwich ran out of luck when police swooped on them.

Police officers were waiting around the corner when they exited the store, according to Neighbourhood Sgt for the Town Centre, Sgt. Matt Burns

All three were taken into custody on Monday, December 21.

General Gordon Square Arrests

On Tuesday, December 22, two males were arrested and taken to the Plumstead Police Station, where they were detained for disturbing the Town Centre.

Police report say, the two were nicked at the General Gordon Square for public order offences and for being drunk.

Quiet Wednesday Still Witnessed some Thefts

On Wednesday, December 23, all appeared peaceful and quiet in town but two thefts were nonetheless reported within 24 hours, according to Police. The thefts occurred over-night Tuesday.

Town Centre Police Team extended patrol hours and Christmas neared and they are noticeable from as early as 8.30 to support business as they open and ready to deal with any early crime.

Eventually Wednesday wasn't all it seemed and Police arrested one female at about 1030 for being drunk and disorderly.

Later, another male was also arrested for breaching a recent dispersal order, police say.

Another male - a young male - was arrested in town for possession of cannabis. He had previously ran away from officers and discarding the drugs.
