Taking on a new learning challenge has never been easier thanks to the fantastic range of adult education opportunities open to people in Royal Greenwich.
Residents dropped in to find out more about the range of learning options at an adult learning and jobs fair at the Eltham Centre recently.
Learning providers including Greenwich Community College (GCC), Greenwich Digital Skills Centre and Learndirect, as well as the Royal Borough’s labour and business service (GLLaB) who were also on hand to offer advice and information.
Courses range from health and wellbeing to IT, performing arts, apprenticeships in catering or business administration, photography and digital skills through to a range of languages (even if you just want to improve your existing English skills). Many of the courses are designed to help people get the skills they might need to get into employment, return to work, or even change career.
Councillor Sizwe James, Cabinet Member for Business, Employment and Skills, said: “Helping residents gain new skills and qualifications so that they can find work, or change careers is a key priority for the Council, so whether you want to start an evening class to kick-start a new hobby, or learn the skills to help you get a new job, there’s a fantastic range of courses on offer throughout the borough."
“Adult learning is all about giving ourselves new skills and new confidence, there are also courses available that can be tailored specifically for people who have dyslexia and may need a little extra support. Why not go to our website and see what’s on offer.”
