The male arrested along Spray Street this afternoon had stolen from Argos and committed public order offences inside the store, according to Sgt. Matt Burns, Town Centre Sgt for Woolwich.

Responding to our enquiry, Sgt Burns said the male escaped from Police at the Argos Store but was traced and detained in Spray Street. He was in hand-cuffs at the time our attention was called to the incidence.

Other updates provided include a busy morning in town on Wednesday when one male  was arrested for a £120 theft from Mothercare Store on Powis Street. The same day, another male  was arrested for fraud at Lloyds bank also in Powis Street.

On Thursday, Police said a good spot by officers led to a thief who was seen discarding coat hangers in the street caught after a stop and search revealed he had stolen 2 Coats from #Store21.

On thursday also, Police asked the public to report anyone seen on a suspicious activity in Vincent Road at about 10.20am in the morning. The issue involved a Black Ford Fiesta Van.

Police also said only 2 crimes were noted in the last 24 hrs. They included a theft where the suspect was arrested and a Robbery at the rear of #Barclays, for investigation was ongoing.

If you had seen any Black Ford Fiesta Van on Vincent Road at about 10.20am on Thursday, please feel free to message Sgt Matt Burns on Twitter directly. Twitter handle @MPSWoolwichTown.
