If you’re looking for great ways to spend winter days then the beautiful open spaces of south east London could be the answer.

The Green Chain Walk spans the whole area so you can choose to do as much or as little as you like – whatever suits. Wherever you walk you will enjoy some fresh air and perhaps walk off some of that Christmas pudding!

The Green Chain has a “What’s-On” guide so that you can see at a glance what is happening and where. There are dozens of organised events, walks and talks, the majority of which are free.

For more information about individual events just click on to the “What’s On” page on the Green Chain Walk websitewww.greenchain.com, or sign-up the quarterly newsletter by emailing events@greenchain.com.

Councillor Danny Thorpe (right), the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: "With bright, crisp winter days, this time of year is a great time to get out and about and explore the beautiful surrounds and history we have here in the region – all of which are so easily accessible through the Green Chain Walk. With 10 different walks, from one end of the borough to the other, why not discover some of nature’s hidden gems.”
