Wild Elephant Crash Through Indian Villages In Panic, Causing Damage To Property

by Benson Agoha | Asia

India is a country with regular news of strange incidents involving animals.

It is either lions and leopards are rampaging through the streets, mauling locals or a tiger finds its way into a classroom to attack students. So locals have gotten used to running for cover when the alarm of a rampaging beast is sounded.

On Wednesday, news made the rounds after a wild elephant rampaged through the streets of and Towns and villages in West India, causing a sizeable amount of damage to homes, and property while frightened residents ran for it. Some braved it to take photos.

The elephant was in panic too. It was covered in blood and sustained cuts. It ran through the streets, crashed into parked cars and trampled motorbikes as can be seen in the accompanying photos.

Authorities gave chase and were finally able to overcome it after several doses of tranquilizers, then loaded it unto a trailer for an animal sanctuary.

If you missed it, here are the photos.
