Hope For Night Tube As Union Members Vote To Accept LU Pay And Night Tube Offer

by Benson Agoha | Transport

Hope for night time tube service has been raised after Rail Workers Union member voted overwhelmingly in favour to accept the Pay and night tube offer made by London Underground.

It comes after RMT workers union confirmed Tuesday that ballot of members across London Underground over the most recent offer from them on pay and night tube recorded an overwhelming 84% favourable vote.

General Secretary Mick Cash said in a statement that, despite the yes vote, he reserved his tribute to Union members who stood rock solid during the lengthy campaign.

He said: “I want to pay tribute to RMT’s members across London Underground who have stood rock solid throughout the long campaign of industrial pressure to secure a fair deal from the company over pay and night tube operation."

“Those members have now voted to accept the most recent offer from the company – an offer that was only made after the hard work by union reps in the negotiations backed up by the loyalty, determination and militancy of the workforce right across the tube network.”

There has been no official reaction from the Transport for London to the new turnout of events.
