Police Appeal For Information After 80-Year-Old Eltham Man Dies Following Collision With Motorcyclist

Detectives are appealing for information after a man died following a road traffic collision at Eltham Road, SE12.

According to a statement by the Met, Police were called to Eltham Road with the junction of Ravens Way at approximately 12:30hrs on Friday, 11 March to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian. London Ambulance Service was called to the scene.

Police say, the pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, was taken to a south London hospital where he died at 15:55hrs on the same day. Next of kin have been informed.
Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course, according to he statement.

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old woman, stopped at the scene and suffered minor injuries. She was was not arrested but will be interviewed under caution at a date to be confirmed.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Catford traffic garage are investigating.
