The council is asking residents and local businesses to share their views on internet services and online connectivity across the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The consultation is part of a review into the demand for ultra-fast broadband, as well as the future plans of the main telecommunication providers in the borough.
Delivering better internet connectivity is a part of the council’s Smart City Strategy – which aims to utilise ‘smarter’ technologies to improve services for residents, strengthen the economy, and bring new investment to the borough.
The consultation process lasts until April 23 and is seeking views of residents and local businesses on internet connectivity in Royal Greenwich, as well as their priorities, requirements and needs for the future when it comes to online services. As part of the plans, the council is also inviting leading and prospective telecommunication providers to set out their investment plans for the borough.
* Is your internet connectivity serving you well? |
“There are a variety of ways that faster broadband can be achieved in the Royal Borough. Alongside working with telecommunication providers, we are also asking residents to share their views, needs and experience in order to make the best decision to boost the borough’s digital infrastructure in the future.”
