South Africa - Pregnant Teenager Stoned To Death By Own Boyfriend

A father has spoken out about his devastation after her pregnant daughter was reportedly stoned to death by her own boyfriend.

The story which was featured in South Africa's the Daily Sun said Nikiwe Dlekedla (65) revealed his daughter was 6 months pregnant at the time she was killed.

The 65-year-old, from Greenfields in Ekurhuleni told Daily Sun his daughter, Nomfusi (17), was afraid of her boyfriend before her death in Palm Ridge on Friday night.

“When we went to his place on Saturday morning, the house was filled with bricks, the furniture was lying all over the place and my daughter’s face was smashed” the grieving father told the media. 

He said he was told his daughter and her boyfriend were on their way home when he started assaulting her. Neighbours said he was abusive and jealous. 

And although he tried, he failed to get the girl to dump the abusive man, saying “He would call her and she would disappear for days. It seemed like she was scared of him but she never told me the relationship was abusive. I heard it from her friends.” 

The sad father said he was still expecting a lot from his daughter because she was very young. “Her siblings are devastated. When they heard the news some of them even fainted,” he said. 

But no suspect has been arrested and his daughters boyfriend has not been arrested by the police. Sergeant Rufus Tema said a case of murder has been opened.

“No arrests have been made and we are continuing with the investigations.” he said.
